Our History
In the Peruvian Andes, stonework is part of a millennia-old tradition. SerenaMS operates within this tradition, working closely with the communities around its quarrying activities and aiming to create lasting economic opportunities as the business grows.
Serena Marble Stone was founded in 1999 by descendants of Italian immigrants. The company initially focused on importing porcelain and marble from Italy, becoming at one stage the exclusive distributor of Marazzi in Peru. This gave Serena early experience in high-quality architectural finishes and international stone and ceramic supply.
In 2006, Serena acquired Pietra Serena, a travertine quarry in Junín, and began developing the extraction and commercialization of travertine blocks. In 2016, the company established its processing plant in Mala, Lima, expanding into the production of travertine tiles and finished products for international clients.
Our Quarries
Located in the Andes, the Cantera Pietra Serena quarry is a premier destination for top-quality travertine and calcium carbonate. Spread over 123 hectares in the Yanacancha District, Chupaca Province, the quarry is easily accessible and close to Vista Alegre. It boasts an impressive reserve of nearly 3 million cubic meters of travertine, renowned for its distinctive texture and vibrant natural colors, making it ideal for a variety of applications including flooring, countertops, and facades.
Additionally, the quarry produces superior ground calcium carbonate, celebrated for its high purity level of 97.98%, which is indispensable in various industries like paint, cement, glass, and agriculture. The CANTERA PIETRA SERENA embodies a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and innovation in extracting and processing natural stone, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and environmental care.
Italian production line in Lima, Peru
Our italian brand Frugoli factory has a current production capacity of 30,000 square meters per month with an automated and continuous production line for cutting and polishing travertine tiles and slabs. With our highly efficient factory Serena Marble Stone can offer the best prices of the market for finished travertine tiles and slabs. We offer a pattern of sizes of travertine tiles, but if our clients have different needs we aim to make the perfect tile shipping for our client specifications.
