Travertine Countertops are cut-to-size natural stone surfaces prepared from our travertine selections in Junín, in the Andean highlands. Ideal for kitchen countertops, islands, vanity tops, bars and hospitality spaces, travertine offers a warmer and more organic look than many industrial surfaces. We recommend a filled and honed matte finish for kitchen applications, combined with proper sealing and maintenance.

Description

Travertine Countertops are designed for projects that require a natural, warm and architectural surface with strong visual character. Produced from our travertine selections in Junín, in the Andean highlands, these countertops are supplied on a cut-to-size basis according to the required dimensions, thickness, finish, edge profile and color selection.

For kitchen applications, travertine offers something different from more common countertop materials. While quartz, porcelain and granite are often chosen for technical performance, travertine is chosen for atmosphere, texture and design value. Its natural pores, soft movement and warm beige, ivory, cream or mandarine tones create a surface that feels organic, timeless and connected to the material’s origin.

This makes travertine especially attractive for interior design styles such as Mediterranean, Wabi-Sabi, rustic luxury, organic modern and warm minimalism. It works particularly well in kitchens with natural wood, limewash walls, neutral palettes, bronze or black metal details, handmade ceramics and soft architectural lighting. In these spaces, the countertop is not only a functional surface, but part of the overall design language.

For kitchen countertops, we generally recommend a filled and honed finish. Filling helps reduce the openness of the natural pores, while the honed matte surface gives the stone a softer and more contemporary appearance. This finish also feels more natural and less reflective than polished stone, making it a strong option for high-end kitchens, islands, bars and hospitality counters. Polished finishes can be reviewed for more formal interiors, but honed or matte finishes are usually the most balanced choice for travertine countertops.

Travertine can be supplied in cross-cut or vein-cut selections depending on the design intent. Cross-cut travertine gives a softer and more clouded natural pattern, while vein-cut travertine creates more linear movement and a stronger architectural direction. Beige travertine is our most standard and scalable option, while ivory, cream and mandarine selections can be coordinated depending on quarry availability and project requirements.

Because travertine is a natural porous stone, proper sealing and maintenance are important, especially in kitchens where the surface may be exposed to oil, wine, citrus, coffee and other staining agents. For the right project, this is not a weakness but part of the material’s nature: travertine is selected by clients who value natural texture, authenticity and a surface that brings warmth and character to the space.

For B2B clients, Travertine Countertops offer a differentiated product for distributors, fabricators, kitchen studios, hospitality suppliers and project developers looking to move beyond standard industrial surfaces. We can support project-based production with custom sizing, finish selection, edge profiles, packing requirements and color coordination according to market or project needs.
